Lumen Bioscience is a story of breakthroughs: in drug development technology, in manufacturing scale and cost, and most importantly, in patient access to cures. Their approach to and belief in the potential of biologic drugs ran counter to the prevailing wisdom (and investment philosophies) driving the pharmaceutical industry.

PhageLab leverages the power of AI and machine learning to confront the looming global crisis of drug-resistant bacteria in the global food chain. The challenge was to help spotlight the crisis without blame or shame, while helping sell a solution that could be readily understood and embraced by customers, partners, and investors.

EnGen Bio had the science and technology to develop universal vaccines for the flu and other infectious diseases — a transformative platform counter to big pharma’s seasonal approach, which lacks true effectiveness and depends on production methods that are unsustainable. Instead of pursuing venture capital investment, EnGen Bio wanted support in leveraging the increased awareness created by COVID to attract investors from non-traditional sources.
